Ryo Itoshima is a medical doctor and Board Certified Pediatrician from Japan, currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Turku in Finland, specializes in family-centered care since 2020. His research focuses on implementing family-centered care interventions in NICUs and studying their impact. As part of the Close Collaboration with Parents intervention team, he works on mentoring NICU staff outside Finland and evaluating the intervention’s effects. His clinical experiences in Japan and personal life have deeply influenced their dedication to enhancing family-centered care in neonatal units.
